Certification: a three-year cycle

Plain Standards certification is unaccredited. It is not accredited by UKAS or any national accreditation body. If your customer or tender asks for an accredited certificate, you need an accredited certification body in your own country.

  • Initial assessment and certificate: $1,497.
  • Yearly surveillance check, in years one and two: $497 each. A lighter review that keeps the certificate valid.
  • Recertification in year three: $997. A fuller reassessment of the whole system.

Mike Armstrong, trained as a Lead Auditor, assesses every system remotely and personally signs every certificate. The certificate stays valid only while your system stays in real use and each yearly check is passed.

Certification costs the same whichever documents your system uses: ours, your own or a consultant's. The audit is the same work either way.

Questions about pricing

Are there any monthly fees?

No. Templates and the complete system are paid for once. The only repeat cost is the yearly certification check, and only if you choose to be certified.

Do you offer discount codes?

No. Every price is the same for everyone.

I bought single documents. Can I still get the complete system?

Yes. For 7 days after buying single documents, what you spent on them is taken off the $997. Email info@plainstandards.com to use it.

Does buying the complete system make certification cheaper?

No. Certification costs the same whatever documents you use. What the system gives you is a business that is ready to be assessed.

Is Plain Standards certification accredited?

No. It is unaccredited. If you need an accredited certificate, use an accredited certification body in your own country.

Do you charge tax?

No. We add no sales tax or VAT to our prices.

What currency do you charge in?

Our prices are set in US dollars. The shop can show them in your own currency at the current exchange rate.
